Archived: ʦapp Council Resolution on Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases


Adopted by the 171st ʦapp Council Session, Santiago, Chile, October 2005
and rescinded at the 66th ʦapp General Assembly, Moscow, Russia, October 2015 

Chronic non-communicable diseases are a rapidly growing problem worldwide. They have major adverse health, social and economic effects especially in poor nations.

The ʦapp Council welcomes the work of the WHO on “Preventing Chronic Diseases, a vital investment” and recommends that all NMAs work with health professional organizations, interested stakeholders and their governments to prevent and relieve the increasing burden of chronic disease.
